How Do We Really Know What We Know? | Dr. Rosemary Laoulach on Science, Faith & Wonder

What if our schools valued wonder as much as they value facts?

Can faith and reason coexist as valid ways of understanding our world?

How might reconnecting with philosophical curiosity help address the crisis of meaning many of us are facing today?

Join me for a profound conversation with Dr. Rosemary Laoulach, philosopher, educator, and author of An Inquiry into Philosophical and Religious Issues. Drawing from her extensive experience teaching Theory of Knowledge in international schools and her current work at the Australian Catholic University, Dr. Laoulach explores the fascinating intersection of scientific reasoning, religious faith, and human understanding. From indigenous ways of knowing to modern scientific methods, from emotional intelligence to religious revelation, this discussion challenges our assumptions about knowledge and wisdom in today’s complex world.

💠 Discover why scientific thinking alone may not capture the full depth of human experience, and how emotions and intuition play a crucial role in our understanding of the world
💠 Learn about the distinction between “calculative” and “meditative” thinking, and why we might be losing touch with essential ways of knowing ourselves
💠 Explore the surprising relationship between wisdom and virtue, and why the ancient philosophers believed you couldn’t have one without the other
💠 Understand how religious faith and scientific inquiry might complement rather than contradict each other, offering different lenses for understanding reality
💠 Gain insight into why wonder and curiosity might be the key to deeper learning and understanding, both in education and in life

This conversation is essential viewing for anyone interested in philosophy, education, religious studies, or simply seeking to understand how we make sense of our increasingly complex world. Dr. Laoulach offers fresh perspectives on age-old questions while making complex philosophical ideas accessible and relevant to contemporary life.
